Biography

Salvatore Nistico, 12 April 1948, Syracuse, New York, USA, d. 3 March 1991, Berne, Switzerland. Nistico started out on alto saxophone, later switching to tenor and joining an R&B band. In the late 50s he joined the Jazz Brothers, a band led by Gap and Chuck Mangione. In 1962 he became a member of the Woody Herman band, to which he returned frequently during the next two decades.
