...As snappy and well reinforced as Santa's pajamas...

Rating: B -- I loved Tim Allen in The Santa Clause. It was a perfect match for his self-effacing humor. And he's even better in Santa Clause 2. Full Review

Rating: B -- This Disney film is exactly what is needed now to get into the holiday spirit. Its theme that you are never too old to believe is a positive message that can be used in any situation. Full Review

Despite the obviously mercenary nature of this sequel, there's a thimbleful of clever ideas at work here, most notably in the way Allen's RoboSanta begins to turn his toy factory into a tiny dictatorship. Full Review

Rating: 2/5 -- It simply feels like a marketing opportunity, without the sincerity and genuine warmth the Christmas season represents. Full Review

...[Allen] projects a warm, fatherly charisma...

Rating: 3/5 -- Veering between cold-hearted cynicism ... and magical Christmas moments, this is far better than the usual Hollywood holiday cash-ins. Full Review

Product Description:

Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) found a jacket eight years ago that turned him into Santa Claus. Unfortunately, 900-year old elf Curtis (Spencer Breslin) failed to read the fine print in the Santa Clause and didn't notice that Santa has to find a wife or stop being Santa. As Christmas Eve--the marriage deadline--approaches, Santa finds himself slowly returning to his mortal appearance as the "de-Santification process" begins. To make matters worse, his mortal son, Charlie, is acting out in school and is on the Naughty list. Searching for a wife and worried about Charlie, Santa returns home as Scott, leaving a toy Santa (also played by Allen) in his place to run the North Pole. Unfortunately, the toy Santa becomes obsesses with the rules in the Santa handbook and turns into a dictator, complete with an army of toy soldiers. Allen is extremely engaging as Scott, a normal guy who loves his role as perhaps the most beloved character in the lives of children. David Krumholtz stars as Bernard, Santa's right-hand elf, and Elizabeth Mitchell is Carol Newman, Charlie's school principal and Scott's unlikely love interest.

Description by Buena Vista Home Entertainment.:

The Santa Clause 2
Walt Disney Pictures presents an all-new comedy adventure overflowing with holiday cheer. Tim Allen reappears in SANTA CLAUSE 2, the hilarious sequel to everybody's holiday favorite. Scott Calvin (Allen) has been Santa Claus for the past eight years, and his loyal elves consider him the best one ever. But Scott's got problems. His son Charlie has landed on this year's "naughty" list, and if Scott doesn't marry by Christmas Eve -- one very, very short month away -- he'll stop being Santa forever. Embracing Christmas and the magic of family with heart, warmth, fun, and charm, SANTA CLAUSE 2 is classic holiday entertainment everybody will enjoy again and again.
