Description by OLDIES.com:
Notorious radio commentator Anthony Fitch lies dead on the carpet of his study, and private investigator Johnny Strange (Warren Douglas) gets framed for the murder by his secretary (Adele Mara). Called to the crime scene, Detective Lieutenant Webb (William Frawley) doesn't think her story adds up. A parade of suspicious characters turns up, offering tantalizing clues that only lead to more questions. Finally a clever radio drama, played by all the suspects, unmasks the real killer.
Inspired by a radio script by Leonard St. Clair and Lawrence Taylor, The Inner Circle features character actor William Frawley, known to millions as the Ricardo's grumpy neighbor Fred Mertz in the television sitcom "I Love Lucy" (1951-1957). Exotic Latin actress Adele Mara's movie credits include the war epic, Sands of Iwo Jima (1949) starring John Wayne, Night Time in Nevada (1948) with cowboy king Roy Rogers, The Catman Of Paris (1946) and Curse Of The Faceless Man (1958) among countless others.
When a gossip-mongering radio reporter is murdered, a man and his secretary are the prime suspects.
