Entertainment Reviews:

Total Film - 03/27/2017
4 stars out of 5 -- "It’s an intelligent piece of thriller engineering, oiled with ’70s style and some wonderful lines. It’s also seasoned with some choice soundtrack cuts..."
Empire - 03/27/2017
4 stars out of 5 -- "Wheatley’s economy of storytelling is impressive here....Comparisons to RESERVOIR DOGS are probably inevitable given the warehouse setting, copious firearms and endlessly quotable script, but this is a sleeker and more violent film."
Variety - 09/09/2016
"FREE FIRE achieves and sustains its sense of carefully orchestrated chaos for nearly a full hour..."
The Guardian - 05/02/2017
4 stars out of 5 -- "FREE FIRE cements Wheatley and Jump’s reputation as the UK’s most vigorously anarchic film-making duo. Unlike their hapless protagonists, they actually hit their targets."
A.V. Club - 04/20/2017
"[I]f the film has only one note to play, it plays it with a certain slapstick panache, landing closer to RESERVOIR DOGS than THE BOONDOCK SAINTS on the quality spectrum of movies about loquacious lowlifes with itchy trigger fingers." -- Grade: B-
Los Angeles Times - 04/20/2017
"[F]erocious, funny and relentless....In smartly examining the foibles and fragility of the male psyche, Wheatley and Jump also make the case for self-awareness and understanding."
New York Times - 04/20/2017
"The film is a formal exercise in spectacle under constraint: An extended standoff in a contained space surprisingly full of hazards."
Chicago Sun-Times - 04/20/2017
"[Y]ou’ll get a kick out of Academy Award winner Brie Larson becoming bloody and muddy and nasty as she shoots to kill and takes a few hits of her own..."
Rolling Stone - 04/21/2017
3 stars out of 4 -- "[Wheatley's] infectious sense of glee in choreographing all the pumped-up mayhem for its own pulped-out sake goes a long way to selling the movie."
