Saxophonist Red Holloway is one of those musicians that seriously works more than one angle--he's established as a jazz musician yet he's slightly better known for his rollicking playing on blues and R&B sessions (including Bobby "Blue" Bland and John Mayall). GO RED finds the big-toned, hearty Holloway drawing from both aspects for a glad 'n' greasy soul-jazz set. Returning to his hometown Chicago, Holloway recruited local aces/legends Chris Foreman and George Freeman (guitarist brother of sax icon Von) for this sizzling, swinging session.
