Christopher Plummer disappears into the role of the billionaire oil tycoon J. Paul Getty and delivers a powerful, magnetic, scene-stealing performance.
[A] story of towering greed and the absence of mercy, and an ideal 21st century morality tale. It’s about money and families and the ties that bind and cut...

Williams' performance is the film's key. At face value, it seems too florid for effectiveness; it beguiles you with its delivery and like a heavy mist it completely envelopes you. Full Review
3 stars out of 4 -- Plummer, 88, aces the role of Getty and shows us what gave the billionaire his infamous cold, cold heart.
[A] terrifically dexterous and detailed thriller about the Italian mob's 1973 kidnapping for ransom of the grandson of the world's richest man, John Paul Getty.
Getty's complicated personality is the meat of the matter, and where the movie really does a good job is digging into themes of greed, family and those so rich they think of other people as things.
Menacing, vile, decadent and finally vulnerable, it shines in one of the most eloquent endings of the director's filmography. [Full Review in Spanish] Full Review
This crime thriller dramatizes the real-life 1973 kidnapping of 16-year-old John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer), the grandson of billionaire oil tycoon J. Paul Getty (Christopher Plummer). John's mother Gail (Michelle Williams) begs J. Paul Getty to pay the kidnappers' ransom; when he refuses, she decides to rescue her son with the help of Getty's business associate, an ex-CIA agent named Fletcher Chase (Mark Wahlberg). Directed by Ridley Scott, ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD originally starred Kevin Spacey as J. Paul Getty. When Spacey was accused of sexual misconduct, Scott reshot his scenes with Christopher Plummer in just nine days in order to meet the movie's planned release date. Inspired by historical events. Certain scenes, characters and dialogue have been fictionalized for dramatic purposes.
