Description by OLDIES.com:
Any Wednesday you'll find slick business tycoon John Cleves (Jason Robards) cuddling up with Ellen Gordon (Jane Fonda) in what she calls her apartment and what tax-conscious John calls his company's executive suite. It's a cozy arrangement until one Wednesday is followed by that Thursday, the day a visiting businessman from Akron (Dean Jones) shows up - ccidentally assigned to the "executive suite." From the 983-performance stage hit, Any Wednesday hits the screen with an expert cast (including Rosemary Murphy as the shrewd Mrs. Cleves, recreating her Tony-nominated Broadway performance) and an unbeatable luster that only Manhattan location filming brings. Any Wednesday sparkles like a Tiffany window display. It's a romantic-comedy gem just too tempting to pass up.
Fonda plays the beautiful mistress of a high-powered industrialist, whose cozy arrangement in a company-paid "executive suite" starts to crumble one hectic afternoon when an aggressive young executive and the industrialist's wife converge on the apartment. Based on the Broadway play by Muriel Resnik.
A married man has had a two-year standing affair with a young woman on Wednesday nights. When his friend is introduced into the picture, the girlfriend, interested in both, doesn't know who to choose. In the process of striving to keep his girlfriend, the man loses his wife.
- Shot in technicolor.
