Description by

This thrill-a-minute pre-Code serial stars Frankie Darro at the height of his popularity along with famed animal actor Rin Tin Tin, Jr. Young Frank Courtney discovers that he is the heir to a successful shipping line and heads to California to reclaim his birthright. But the current president of the company, Norman Bryan, has been embezzling funds. He orders Frank killed before he can discover his shady dealings. Fearing for his life, the boy enlists the aid of genius inventor Bob Whitlock and his faithful dog Rin Tin Tin. But even their courage may not be enough to fight off Bryan's men.

The son of circus aerialists, Frankie Darro appeared in numerous silent films as a youngster (including a series of westerns opposite Tom Tyler) and found great success as the lead in William Wellman's Wild Boys of the Road (1933). Eternally youthful, he played teenage roles well into his twenties. He would also provide the voice of Lampwick in Pinocchio (1940) and was Robby the Robot in the sci-fi classic Forbidden Planet (1956). Rin Tin Tin, Jr. took over as Hollywood's premiere canine movie star in 1932. Famed child actor Dickie Moore (Oliver Twist) has a cameo at the beginning of the first chapter.
