Originally a 1999 self-released EP by the band, this remastered assortment of early and previously unissued tracks is proof both that the Mooney Suzuki were way ahead of the early-2000s garage-rock revival curve, and that they've been masters of both the primitive backbeat and jangly pop psychedelia since their inception. The well-chosen cover of Them's "I Can Only Give You Everything" is evidence of the former, with "My Dear Persephone" a prime example of the latter.
